Backpacking One of the BEST Hiking Trails in BC (How to Hike + Camp Garibaldi Lake & Panorama Ridge)

Is this one of the best views in Canada?? Come with us as we bring you on a bucketlist camping trip, hiking over 35km in Garibaldi Provincial Park with wildflowers blooming, pristine lakes and unbelievable views. Located in between Squamish and Whistler and only 1 hour from Vancouver, the hike to Garibaldi Lake and Panorama Ridge is one of our favourite hikes in British Columbia. Garibaldi Lake campground was backcountry PARADISE with and honestly felt a little luxury with outhouses, nice dock, and shelters.

How do you get permits for Garibaldi Lake Campground? You need to check bcparks.ca consistently if you want to find permits/cancelations and It will cost around $25 per person. This is one of the hardest permits to get in Vancouver and especially for Garibaldi Lake campground… Taylor Meadows and Helm Creek aren’t as popular so if you just want to do the ridge these are also great choices and less km.

Do I have to camp? Can I day hike to panorama ridge? You can day hike to Panorama Ridge and this is what we did our first time. I almost found it harder hiking more kms and camping at the lake. Be prepared to be getting back to the parking lot past midnight if you are expecting to watch sunset.

OUR PERFECT ITINERARY:
Day One: Rubble Creek Parking lot to Garibaldi Lake Campground + summit Panorama Ridge + back to camp (roughly 25kms)
Day Two: Enjoy Garibaldi Lake morning + hike out (9.5km)
