and yet I used an alcohol stove when I was a kid in the scouts that was over 50 years ago we knew and sterno was big. lol thanks for sharing.

Another big advantage is stability. No boiling contents perched precariously up on small canister or tripod base just waiting to be toppled by a wayward elbow or hand or unstable surface into your lap.
I use my Trangia burner along with a Fire Box Nano to hold it in. The Trangia cooker set is nice but a little to bulky. I take my setup grouse hunting or for canoe daytrips. It truly is bomb proof and so simple a cave man can use it.
